On July 12, 2009, Lukas took his first
ever ride in a small airplane. The
flight went really well. We departed
Warrenton-Fauquier Airport in Midland, VA
(KHWY) at approximately 10:30 am local time
in a rented Cessna 172, and flew out over my
home in Front Royal, VA. We wanted to
fly down the Shenandoah Valley, but low
ceilings prevented us from crossing the
mountains.
Lukas' dad, Thomas rode in
the back seat, and had a great time pointing
out landmarks and cows. We returned to
Warrenton after an hour of flight time and
made a perfect landing.
